MotherBoard

Mother board is considered as mother of all hardware components of the computer system. It is connected with almost all the components of the computer system. Motherboards comes with different brand names but Intel is the name which we often hear when it comes to motherboard. Motherboard contains certain slots for Ram which is also called as computer memory. Ram comes with various slot types. They are DDR1, DDR2, DDR3. It also contains various other slots for Graphics cards or Video cards and Sound cards. There are various types of slots available in a motherboard. For example: PCI slot for audio or sound cards as well as for VGA cards. Graphics cards are of two types. AGP and PCI express cards. AGP is the short form of Advanced Graphics Port. This port is only meant for Graphics cards. AGP comes with various speeds AGP 2x, 4x and AGP 8x. These cards are backward compactible. PCI express cards also has various speeds. PCI 1x, 4x and now it comes with PCI express. This PCI express cards are cheap as well as plays latest games. Motherboard contains a place for Processor. This is considered as Brain of computer. This brain is used only for processing various datas and mathematical operations. Motherboard gets power from SMPS which is the unit used for power supply. Motherboards contains IDE, SATA cable male piece which is used to connect which is used to connect hard disc, floppy disc and CD/DVD reader/ writer. Keyboards, Mouse, Printer, scanner, copier are directly connected to Motherboard. Hence it is rightly called as mother of the computer.
