MotherBoard

Mother board is considered as mother of all hardware components of the computer system. It is connected with almost all the components of the computer system. Motherboards comes with different brand names but Intel is the name which we often hear when it comes to motherboard. Motherboard contains certain slots for Ram which is also called as computer memory. Ram comes with various slot types. They are DDR1, DDR2, DDR3. It also contains various other slots for Graphics cards or Video cards and Sound cards. There are various types of slots available in a motherboard. For example: PCI slot for audio or sound cards as well as for VGA cards. Graphics cards are of two types. AGP and PCI express cards. AGP is the short form of Advanced Graphics Port. This port is only meant for Graphics cards. AGP comes with various speeds AGP 2x, 4x and AGP 8x. These cards are backward compactible. PCI express cards also has various speeds. PCI 1x, 4x and now it comes with PCI express. This PCI express cards are cheap as well as plays latest games. Motherboard contains a place for Processor. This is considered as Brain of computer. This brain is used only for processing various datas and mathematical operations. Motherboard gets power from SMPS which is the unit used for power supply. Motherboards contains IDE, SATA cable male piece which is used to connect which is used to connect hard disc, floppy disc and CD/DVD reader/ writer. Keyboards, Mouse, Printer, scanner, copier are directly connected to Motherboard. Hence it is rightly called as mother of the computer.

Hard disc

It store several programs, documents , database,etc. It is the computer's permanent storage unit. It can hold large amount of data. It can also hold large amount of programs.Unlike data held in RAM the information on the hard disc is not affected even though the computer's power is switched off. The stored item is permanent until you instruct to delete it.

The hard disc is like a CD rotating inside a cd rom. but its different. It can have large amount of data in it. The number one manufacturer of hard disc is SEAGATE. this is best as of me. they have given number one position for a company which deserve it.

I personally feel it. And another competitor of SEAGATE is WD (Western Digital). It is also an good company. the capacity of hard disc is given with bits. this bits are sub units of bytes. 8 bit equals 1byte. 1024 bytes equals 1Kilo Bytes. 1024 kilobytes equals 1 Mega Byte. 1024 Mega Byte equals 1 Giga Bytes.1024 Giga Bytes equals 1 Tera Bytes and so on.

Computer System - General

Computer is an electronic component contains various parts combined to it. It is mostly divided into Hardware and Software. Hardwares are referred as physical components and Softwares which runs several components. Computer is a latin word derived from "computare" which means 'to compute' or 'to calculate'. Olden day computers are used for calculations but today it enters wide fields and making remarkable differences with it.
The basic operations of a computer is input, output and process. Computer has got memory to store datas. computer system has following components in it. Main component of a computer system is processor. It is placed with mother board,where all the sub components are placed. Monitor is an output device which shows the output to the user. printer is also an output unit, which prints data in papers.
